It is with this mystical phrase that the story of an epic fantasy saga begins, telling us of good and evil jinn, sultans, honest princes, and conspiring princes. A dense plot filled with bustling markets and sumptuous palaces, crafty merchants of magical relics, storytellers, greedy thieves, wild desert hunters, and blood-soaked battles between spirits, humans, and zombies called ghouls.
A sentence both simple and powerful, capable of capturing me and catapulting me in a single moment straight into the enchanted atmosphere of the most imaginative, ancient, and mysterious part of the Middle East.
🎨 CHILDHOOD COLORS VS. THE HARSHNESS OF THE WORLD
While reading those pages, sweet childhood memories immediately resurfaced in my mind, when my mother used to tell me the fairy tale of Aladdin's lamp, reading from a book with colorful and evocative illustrations. I absolutely adored those drawings.
For many years, until adulthood, the Middle East was synonymous for me with feathered turbans embellished with gems, odalisques dressed in multi-colored veils, men with baggy trousers, pointed shoes, and waistcoats intarsiaed with gold embroidery, desert tents, oases rich in fruits, and camels lined up one behind the other.
Then, growing up, the rise of the Taliban and the news on television showed me a completely different reality and led me, unfortunately, to detest that part of the world.
The historical books I have read over the past year have brought the magic of those fairy tales back to life, and this fantasy meant for me diving back into a fascinating magical universe that I had tucked away in a corner of my mind.
⚖️ THE STELLAR VERDICT: A RATING OF RESPECT
"The Stardust Thief" is a novel that draws deep inspiration from classical Arabic literature, particularly from the atmospheres of The 1001 Nights.
This reading only partially satisfied my desire for enchantment and, even though I love action and adventure, I didn't find those two components as gripping as I would have liked.
My actual rating for the book is 3.5 stars, which I decided to round down to 3 stars on Goodreads (where unfortunately half-stars do not exist).
Indeed, I recognize that the work and effort of the debut author, at the time of the novel's launch, was enormous, structured, and worthy of great respect; however, reviews are based on personal reading feelings, and the passages that were too repetitive for me, combined with a confusing ending, led me to round the vote down.
⏳ A WHIRLWIND OF CONTRASTS IN SEARCH OF ONESELF
The novel is not simply a fairy tale or a superficial retelling, but it is above all a rich blend of opposite and complementary elements at the same time: it combines adventure and introspection, placid and engaging tales of myths and legends with wild chases and rocambolesque escapes, feelings of deep friendship and desires for fierce revenge.
Every element in the book has its counterpart, and the whole plot unfolds in a continuous see-saw of happy and desperate moments.
In this scenario, our protagonists seek not only to reach their material goal, but above all to find themselves, their place in the world, and their own personal meaning of life.
📜 THE PLOT IN BRIEF: INTRIGUE IN THE SAND
Known and hunted as the Midnight Merchant, Loulie al-Nazari dedicates herself to the illegal trade of magical objects alongside her jinn protector named Qadir. Her life takes a dangerous turn when, after saving a timid prince, she draws the attention of the Sultan. The latter invites Loulie to the palace and “asks” her to undertake a desert expedition as a royal mission to find an ancient legendary lamp, which once belonged to one of his ancestors, capable of reviving the wasted land of the kingdom. If Loulie does not accept the request she will be executed for disobedience; however, finding the lamp means the total extermination of all jinn, including her loyal protector Qadir, about whom the Sultan obviously knows nothing.
Accompanied by Qadir disguised as her bodyguard, the Sultan’s eldest son – who hides his own sinister plans – and one of the famous forty thieves, Loulie embarks on this perilous mission. She will have to face not only the hardships of the desert but also the malice of evil jinn, attacks from ghouls (men killed by jinn and turned into zombies at their service), and clash with a dangerous adversary from her past. In a kingdom where myths dictate reality and deception masks as truth, Loulie realizes that her enemies, her powers, and her very memories are not what she believed, forcing her to forge a new identity in a constantly changing world.
🤗 MY HONEST THOUGHTS
🕌 THE FIRST HALF: THE CHARM OF THE MARKETS AND THE SLOW PACE
The book is sharply divided into two parts.
In the first half, we see the characters' daily lives before the fateful expedition imposed by the Sultan. I adored the description of the oriental markets, rich in precious and colorful carpets, magical objects of all kinds, and storytellers; I was fascinated by the mystery of the Midnight Merchant hidden under the dark garments typical of ancient times, and the loyal warrior-friend invincible at her side protecting her, with a barely hinted smile and a great affection in his heart.
I also greatly appreciated the prince, labeled as a coward: in my opinion, he is just inexperienced and fearful, and I found it exaggerated that he is called a coward throughout the whole book. I even found the secondary characters likeable, such as Loulie’s landlady or the merchant who buys the silver, magical, healing blood of the jinn.
This first half captivates the reader with the many facets of the general scene, but at the same time, it seems to never truly move forward, leading me several times to think: “Yes, the book is beautiful, but... when is something concrete actually going to happen?”. In my view, this initial part would have been much more captivating if it had been half the pages.
⚔️ THE SECOND HALF: ACTION TRANSCENDS INTO A LABYRINTH OF GOTHIC ECHOES
The second half of the book, just when I was starting to despair, slowly moves toward pure action.
We are overwhelmed by ambushes from evil jinn and the walking dead at their command, desperate fights with magical daggers, relics enclosing the souls of deceased jinn and part of their powers, and mysterious, dreary places beneath the sand where the protagonists find themselves trapped as if in the worst nightmares.
The action and twists intensify as the story proceeds, keeping the reader wrapped in a sort of trance, eager to discover the truth.
While the first part offers an introduction to the characters, it is in the second that we discover their true "self". Despite everyone hiding secrets, even they themselves discover their real will and destiny as they face dangers and learn about others' truths.
🎭 THE PLAY OF SHADOWS: IDENTITIES IN CONSTANT TRANSFORMATION
From the protagonist Loulie to her bodyguard Quadir, passing through the younger prince Mazen, the elder prince Omar, and the thief Aisha, everyone hides personal secrets and goals.
None of them is truly what they seem to the other members of the group. And just when the reader thinks they have understood everyone's role, they find themselves having to change their mind chapter after chapter.
The charm of the book and the author's skill lie precisely in this: a play of shadows in constant transformation of which, given the length of the book and the variety of creatures, it is not always easy to keep track.
As a fantasy story inspired by an Arabic classic, as a description of landscapes shaped by magic, and as a pressing pace in the second part, this book was a beautiful experience for me. It was my first real foray into the epic-fantasy genre, and I do not regret leaving my comfort zone to dive into something completely new.
⚠️ MY OBJECTIONS: THE LIMITS OF A WORDY ADVENTURE
However, there are specific elements that lowered my final score.
Honestly, Loulie getting super touchy every time she finds out Quadir’s kept secrets from her happens way too many times. By the end, it just gets exhausting—especially with Quadir’s reactions begging for forgiveness on loop. It’s honestly just way too much to bear!
Although the plot is visually very appealing, I found the continuous repetition of the same cycle a bit repetitive: encounter with the villains, you fight, you win and exult; then a new encounter with the villains, you fight, but this time characters get hurt or someone is lost. The situation becomes desperate, then ground is regained, you fight again, you win, you exult, and then you lose all over again...
But frankly, I must also admit that this is probably a personal limit of mine. As a newcomer to the fantasy genre, I have to recognize that I am not yet ready for endless and complex sagas. The flaw, if we can call it that, is entirely due to my personal reading tastes, not the author's work, which remains majestic.
Reflecting on it, in fact, I believe that these continuous battles without a definitive solution are basically the daily bread of every great epic fantasy saga (think of Game of Thrones!). This is exactly what fantasy enthusiasts desire and live for! Therefore, if you adore immersive world-building, magical quests inspired by the 1001 Nights, and epic battles, you will absolutely devour this book!
🛑 THE CLIFFHANGER DILEMMA AND INTRICATE KNOTS
The second reason why I lowered my score is that there is never a definitive victory for the good or the bad guys (also because these roles are not well defined until the final chapters) and the book closes with a massive cliffhanger.
Is this perhaps a characteristic of sagas composed of multiple volumes? Maybe yes, but since the book is long and you often have to wait a year for the release of the next chapter, I find it frustrating to leave readers without a minimum of final satisfaction.
I am lucky because I read the book years after its release and I have the sequels available, but I think readers should be “enticed” to read the sequel, not “forced.” 👉Giving no sensible ending equals forcing you to buy the second volume or keeping your dissatisfaction.
Furthermore, in the final chapters, I found some contradictions: human blood is red, that of jinn and ifrit is silver, but that of another jinn suddenly turns out to be black and it is not clear why. The narrative deduction is not that he is an evil jinn, since the other antagonists also had silver blood... so the motivation for the black blood remains unresolved, along with other small details regarding other characters.
The plot becomes so complex and intricate that not only does the reader get confused, but I had the distinct feeling that even the author, in the end, failed to untangle herself from all the knots and connect the threads of her own story properly.
EXCELLENT TRANSLATION OF THE ITALIAN EDITION, BUT EDITORS... A GLOSSARY IS MISSING!
My friend is currently reading the Italian edition of this book, so I borrowed it for a day to read a few passages (the ones I had liked most in my English edition) and get an idea of the editorial rendering. 😀✨ I must say that the translator did an absolutely extraordinary job! She remained incredibly faithful to the original text without losing a single drop of that legendary magic the author wanted to convey.
However, I found a major flaw in both the English and Italian editions: there is a complete lack of a glossary for the numerous Arabic words used in the story!
I constantly had to stop to search for the meaning of the terms on the web.
At least in the Italian version, these words are written in italics, whereas in my English copy, they were printed with the same character as the rest of the narrative.
Not that it was difficult to identify them, because it was clearly understood that it wasn't English, but they are not words commonly used in the Western world. It would have been appropriate to highlight them and provide a glossary at the end of the volume (the task of the author or the publishers? This I do not know, but for me, it is a serious lack, because when I read I WANT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM READING!).
The author's notes regarding the deep connections with The Thousand and One Nights are also completely missing. Readers who know these ancient stories will easily recognize the links, but younger readers—who maybe only know Disney’s Aladdin—or people from different cultures will miss all these beautiful hidden connections.
💫 FINAL VERDICT: BEWARE OF THE INVISIBLE "ROMANCE"!
Despite the points that lowered my personal score, it remains a majestic work and I recommend it to all fantasy lovers, especially "young adults".
If they made a TV series out of it, I think the scripts, settings, and costumes would be exceptional, as well as the action scenes and the sweeter scenes of camaraderie.
🚨 CRUCIAL WARNING: Although on Goodreads this book is tagged as ROMANCE, DO NOT expect a love story!
There is a romantic interest on Loulie's part, but it is barely, barely hinted at and absolutely nothing concrete happens. There is only a timid anticipation of a probable future love story in the next books… but honestly, I think the maximum romantic expression conceived by the author remains the intertwining of fingers. A bit too little for us Western readers, who like to read about languid kisses, burning kisses, and bodies that at least touch each other, making true passion flare up inside the soul! 👅🔥

🔮 L'INCANTO DI UN'APERTURA MISTICA
«Né qui, né là, ma tanto tempo fa…»
È con questa mistica frase che inizia la storia di un’epica saga fantasy che ci racconta di jinn buoni e malvagi, sultani, principi onesti e principi cospiratori. Una trama densa di brulicanti mercati e palazzi sontuosi, astuti mercanti di oggetti magici, narratori di storie, avidi ladri, scatenati cacciatori del deserto e lotte all’ultimo sangue tra spiriti, umani e zombie chiamati ghoul. Una frase semplice e potente al tempo stesso, capace di catturarmi e catapultarmi in un solo attimo dentro all’atmosfera incantata della parte più fantasiosa, antica e misteriosa del Medio Oriente.
🎨 I COLORI DELL'INFANZIA CONTRO LA CRUDEZZA DEL MONDO
Mentre leggevo quelle pagine, sono subito affiorati alla mia mente i dolci ricordi d’infanzia, quando mia madre mi raccontava la favola della lampada di Aladino leggendomi un libro dalle colorate e suggestive illustrazioni. Adoravo quei disegni.
Per moltissimi anni, fino all’età adulta, per me il Medio Oriente è stato sinonimo di turbanti piumati e impreziositi da gemme, odalische vestite di veli dai mille colori, uomini con pantaloni larghi, scarpe a punta e gilet intarsiati di ricami d’oro, tende nel deserto, oasi ricche di frutti e cammelli in fila l'uno dietro l'altro.
Poi, crescendo, l’avvento dei talebani e le notizie del telegiornale mi hanno mostrato una realtà completamente diversa e mi hanno portata, purtroppo, a detestare quella parte di mondo.
I libri storici che ho letto nell’ultimo anno hanno ridato vita alla magia di quelle favole, e questo fantasy significava per me rituffarmi in un affascinante universo magico che avevo accantonato in un angolo della mente.
⚖️ IL VERDETTO SULLE STELLE: UN RATING DI RISPETTO
"The Stardust Thief" (Il ladro di polvere di stelle) è un romanzo che trae profonda ispirazione dalla letteratura araba classica, in particolare dalle atmosfere de Le Mille e una Notte.
Questa lettura ha soddisfatto solo in parte il mio desiderio di incanto e, anche se amo l’azione e l’avventura, non ho trovato queste due componenti avvincenti come avrei voluto.
Il mio voto reale sul libro è di 3,5 stelle, che ho deciso di arrotondare a 3 stelle su Goodreads (dove purtroppo non esistono i mezzi voti).
Riconosco infatti che il lavoro e l’impegno dell’autrice esordiente, all'epoca del lancio del romanzo, sia stato enorme, strutturato e degno di grande rispetto; tuttavia, le recensioni si basano sulle sensazioni personali di lettura e i passaggi per me troppo ripetitivi uniti a un finale confusionario mi hanno portata ad arrotondare il voto per difetto.
⏳ UN'ALTALENA DI CONTRASTI ALLA RICERCA DI SÉ
Il romanzo non è semplicemente una favola o un banale retelling, ma è soprattutto una ricca miscela di elementi opposti e complementari al tempo stesso: combina avventura e introspezione, placidi e coinvolgenti racconti di miti e leggende con inseguimenti e fughe rocambolesche, sentimenti di profonda amicizia e desideri di vendetta feroce.
Ogni elemento del libro ha il proprio contrapposto e tutta la trama si sviluppa in una continua altalena di momenti felici e momenti disperati.
In questo scenario, i nostri protagonisti cercano non solo di raggiungere il proprio obiettivo materiale, ma soprattutto di trovare se stessi, il proprio posto nel mondo e il proprio personale significato di vita.
📜 L'INTRIGO NELLA SABBIA: LA TRAMA IN BREVE
Conosciuta e ricercata come la Mercantessa di Mezzanotte, Loulie al-Nazari si dedica al commercio illegale di oggetti dai poteri magici insieme al suo protettore jinn di nome Qadir. La sua vita prende una svolta pericolosa quando, dopo aver salvato un timido principe, attira l'attenzione del Sultano. Quest’ultimo invita Loulie a palazzo e le “chiede” di intraprendere una spedizione nel deserto per trovare un’antica lampada leggendaria in grado di risanare la terra desolata del regno. Se Loulie non accetta la richiesta verrà giustiziata per disubbidienza; tuttavia, il ritrovamento della lampada comporterebbe lo sterminio totale di tutti i jinn, incluso il suo fedele protettore Qadir, di cui il Sultano ovviamente non sa nulla.
Accompagnata da Qadir nei panni della sua guardia del corpo, dal figlio maggiore del Sultano – che nasconde loschi piani – e da una dei famosi quaranta ladroni, Loulie s'imbarca in questa pericolosa missione. Dovrà affrontare non solo le asperità del deserto, ma anche la malvagità dei jinn oscuri, gli attacchi dei ghoul (uomini uccisi dai jinn e resi zombie al loro servizio) e scontrarsi con un temibile avversario del suo passato. In un regno dove i miti dettano la realtà e l'inganno si maschera da verità, Loulie si renderà conto che i suoi nemici, i suoi poteri e i suoi stessi ricordi non sono ciò che credeva, costringendola a forgiare una nuova identità in un mondo in continuo mutamento.
🤗 I MIEI PENSIERI
🕌 LA PRIMA METÀ: L'INCANTO DEI MERCATI E IL RITMO LENTO
Il libro si suddivide nettamente in due parti.
Nella prima metà vediamo la vita dei personaggi nel loro quotidiano, prima della fatidica spedizione imposta dal Sultano. Ho adorato la descrizione dei mercati orientali, ricchi di tappeti pregiati e colorati, oggetti magici di ogni sorta e narratori di storie; mi ha affascinato la misteriosità della Mercantessa di Mezzanotte celata sotto scure vesti tipiche dell’epoca antica e il fedele amico-guerriero invincibile al suo fianco, con un sorriso appena accennato e un grande affetto nel cuore. Ho apprezzato molto anche il principe, etichettato come codardo: a mio avviso è solo inesperto e timoroso, e ho trovato esagerato che venga definito codardo per tutto il libro. Ho trovato persino simpatici i personaggi secondari, come la padrona di casa di Loulie o il mercante che acquista il sangue argentato e magico dei jinn.
Questa prima metà ammalia il lettore con le tante sfaccettature della scena generale, ma al tempo stesso sembra non andare mai veramente avanti, portandomi più volte a pensare: “Sì, bello il libro, ma... quando succede qualcosa di concreto?”. A mio avviso, questa parte iniziale sarebbe stata molto più accattivante se le pagine fossero state la metà.
⚔️ LA SECONDA METÀ: L'AZIONE TRASCENDE NEL LABIRINTO DEI RIGURGITI GOTHIC
La seconda metà del libro, proprio quando cominciavo a disperare, si avvia pian piano verso l’azione pura. Veniamo travolti da imboscate di jinn malvagi e morti viventi al loro comando, combattimenti disperati con pugnali magici, reliquie che racchiudono le anime dei jinn defunti e parte dei loro poteri, lugubri luoghi sotto la sabbia dove i protagonisti si ritrovano intrappolati come nei peggiori incubi.
L’azione e i colpi di scena si intensificano via via che la storia procede, tenendo il lettore avviluppato in una sorta di trance in cui non vede l’ora di scoprire la verità.
Se la prima parte offre una presentazione dei personaggi, è nella seconda che scopriamo il loro vero "io". Nonostante ognuno celi dei segreti, persino loro stessi scoprono la propria reale volontà e il proprio destino man mano che affrontano i pericoli e vengono a conoscenza delle verità altrui.
🎭 IL GIOCO DELLE OMBRE: IDENTITÀ IN CONTINUA TRASFORMAZIONE
Dalla protagonista Loulie alla sua guardia del corpo Qadir, passando per il principe minore Mazen, il principe maggiore Omar e la ladra Aisha, ognuno nasconde segreti e obiettivi personali.
Nessuno di loro è veramente ciò che sembra agli altri membri del gruppo. E mentre il lettore pensa di aver compreso il ruolo di ciascuno, si ritrova a doversi ricredere capitolo dopo capitolo.
Il fascino del libro e la bravura dell’autrice stanno proprio in questo: un gioco delle ombre in continua trasformazione di cui, data la lunghezza del libro e la varietà di creature, non è sempre facile tenere traccia. Come storia di fantasia ispirata a un classico arabo, come descrizione di paesaggi modellati dalla magia e come ritmo incalzante della seconda parte, questo libro è stato per me una bellissima esperienza. È stata la mia prima vera incursione nel genere epic-fantasy e non mi sono pentita di essere uscita dalla mia comfort zone per tuffarmi in qualcosa di totalmente nuovo.
⚠️ LE MIE OBIEZIONI: I LIMITI DI UN'AVVENTURA LOGORROICA
Tuttavia, ci sono alcuni elementi specifici che hanno abbassato il mio punteggio finale.
La suscettibilità di Loulie, quando scopre che Quadir le ha nascosto qualcosa, si ripete continuamente fino a stancare il lettore, e il conseguente dispiacere di Quadir, con i suoi occhi pieni di lacrime che implorano perdono, si ripete in modo insopportabile.
Sebbene la trama visivamente sia molto accattivante, ho trovato un po’ ripetitivo anche il continuo riproporsi dello stesso ciclo: incontro con i cattivi, si combatte, si vince e si esulta; poi nuovo incontro con i cattivi, si combatte, ma questa volta ci si fa male o si perde qualcuno. La situazione diventa disperata, poi si riguadagna terreno, si combatte ancora, si vince, si esulta e poi di nuovo si perde...
Ma francamente devo anche ammettere che questo è probabilmente un mio limite personale. Come neofita del genere fantasy, devo riconoscere di non essere ancora pronta per saghe infinite e complesse. Il difetto quindi, se così si può definire, è in gran parte dovuto ai miei gusti di lettura personali, non all'opera dell'autrice, che rimane maestosa.
Riflettendoci bene, infatti, credo che queste continue battaglie senza una soluzione definitiva siano in fondo il pane quotidiano di ogni grande saga fantasy epica (pensate a Il Trono di Spade!). Questo è esattamente ciò che gli appassionati di fantasy desiderano e per cui vivono! Perciò, se adorate la costruzione di mondi coinvolgenti, le avventure magiche ispirate alle Mille e una Notte e le battaglie epiche, divorerete questo libro!
🛑 IL DILEMMA DEL CLIFFHANGER E I NODI INTRICATI
Il secondo motivo per cui ho abbassato il voto è che non si arriva mai a una vittoria definitiva dei buoni o dei cattivi (anche perché questi ruoli non sono ben definiti sino agli ultimi capitoli) e il libro si chiude con un grossissimo cliffhanger.
Sarà forse una caratteristica delle saghe composte da più volumi? Forse sì, ma dato che il libro è lungo e che spesso bisogna aspettare un anno per l’uscita del capitolo successivo, trovo frustrante lasciare i lettori senza un minimo di soddisfazione finale.
Io sono fortunata perché ho letto il libro a distanza di anni dalla sua uscita e ho i sequel a disposizione, ma penso che i lettori vadano “invogliati” a leggere il seguito, non “costretti”. 👉Non dare alcun finale sensato per me equivale a costringerti a comprare il secondo volume o a tenerti la tua insoddisfazione.
Inoltre, nei capitoli finali ho riscontrato alcune contraddizioni: il sangue degli umani è rosso, quello dei jinn e degli ifrit è argento, ma quello di un altro jinn improvvisamente lo scopriamo nero e non si capisce il perché. La deduzione narrativa non è che sia un jinn malvagio, poiché anche gli altri antagonisti avevano il sangue argenteo... quindi la motivazione del sangue nero, rimane irrisolta e così anche altri piuccoli dettagli reiguardo ad altri personaggi.
La trama diventa talmente complessa e intricata che non solo il lettore va in confusione, ma ho avuto la netta sensazione che persino l’autrice, alla fine, non sia riuscita a districarsi da tutti i nodi e a collegare in maniera corretta i fili della sua stessa storia.
COMPLIMENTI ALLA TRADUZIONE, MA EDITORI... MANCA UN GLOSSARIO!
La mia amica sta leggendo l'edizione italiana di questo libro, così me lo sono fatto prestare per un giorno per leggerne alcuni pezzi (quelli che più mi erano piaciuti nella mia edizione inglese) e farmi un’idea sulla resa editoriale. 😀✨ Devo dire che la traduttrice ha fatto un lavoro davvero straordinario! È rimasta incredibilmente fedele al testo originale senza perdere minimamente quella magia leggendaria che l'autrice voleva trasmettere.
Tuttavia, ho riscontrato una pecca importante sia nell'edizione inglese che in quella italiana: manca completamente un glossario per le numerose parole arabe usate nella storia!
Ho dovuto continuamente fermarmi a cercare il significato dei termini sul web. Almeno nella versione italiana queste parole sono scritte in corsivo, mentre nella mia copia inglese erano stampate con lo stesso carattere del resto della narrazione.
Non che fosse difficile individuarle, perché si capiva chiaramente che non fosse inglese, ma non sono parole di uso comune nel mondo occidentale. Sarebbe stato opportuno evidenziarle e fornire un glossario a fine volume (compito dell’autrice o degli editori? Questo non lo so, ma per me è una grave mancanza, perché quando leggo VOGLIO CAPIRE COSA LEGGO!).
Mancano del tutto anche le note dell'autrice riguardo ai profondi collegamenti con Le Mille e una Notte. I lettori che conoscono queste antiche storie riconosceranno facilmente i legami, ma i lettori più giovani—che magari conoscono solo l'Aladdin della Disney—o persone di culture diverse si perderanno tutte queste bellissime connessioni nascoste.
💫 VERDETTO FINALE: ATTENTI AL "ROMANCE" INVISIBILE!
Nonostante i punti che hanno abbassato il mio punteggio personale, rimane un lavoro maestoso e lo consiglio a tutti gli amanti del fantasy, soprattutto ai giovani adulti (Young Adult).
Se ne facessero una serie TV penso che le sceneggiature, le ambientazioni e i costumi sarebbero eccezionali, così come le scene d’azione e quelle più dolci di cameratismo.
🚨 AVVERTIMENTO FONDAMENTALE: Sebbene su Goodreads questo libro sia taggato come ROMANCE, NON aspettatevi una storia d'amore!
C’è un interesse romantico da parte di Loulie, ma è appena appena accennato e non succede assolutamente nulla di concreto. C’è solo un timido anticipo di una probabile futura storia d'amore nei prossimi libri… ma onestamente penso che la massima espressione romantica concepita dall’autrice rimanga l’intrecciarsi delle dita delle mani. Un po' troppo poco per noi lettori occidentali, a cui piace leggere di baci languidi, baci ardenti e di corpi che perlomeno si sfiorino facendo divampare la vera passione dentro l’anima! 👅🔥
